London Routemaster Buses – The Only Way To Travel

When you’re thinking of getting on your bike and jumping over parked vehicles, there’s usually only one type that truly gets the adrenaline pumping.

You haven’t perfected the motorbike jump stunt unless you have flown over at least three Routemasters!

Y’know, before adrenalin junkies were revving up their motorbikes to prove to amazed onlookers how brave (and crazy) they were, there were different types of audiences looking at Routemasters.  Here’s a visitor from the good old U.S. of A soaking up a piece of English vintage charm.

In 1977, the Routemaster was repainted silver for the Queen’s jubilee and then in 2012 it had a spell in gold to celebrate 50 years on the throne.

After a few years of prototypes, the design for the Routemaster was settled upon and a total of 2,876 were eventually built.

There are 1,280 still in existence, though mainly in a display capacity, and they were only ever intended to have a 17 year production life.

Our buses are maintained to the highest order, which means you can travel safely and with peace of mind knowing your classic 1966 Routemaster has met current specification requirements to be not only roadworthy but worthy of being hired out to you!

Our Routemaster buses are classic and stylish.  They really are the only way to travel.
